The Power Colloid application
High-pressure coating
With a thin layer coating (0.2 to 0.5 mm) applied by means of high-pressure airless technology it is possible to protect concrete surfaces and other mineral substrates, as well as metallic structures, durably against corrosion.
POWER-COLLOID CONSISTS OF 3 MAIN COMPONENTS
- Cement of the quality 52.5 (grey or white)
- Levitated water
- Application specific POWER-COLLOID additives (PCA)
Process
1.
The POWER-COLLOID slurry (= watery, semi liquid cement mush) is made in the POWER-COLLOIDATOR.
The start of the process initiates the automatic addition of water. During the filling process the water is levitated in order to break up the molecular clusters in the water.
The cement, the POWER-COLLOID additive and liquefier are added to the levitated water. The actual colloidal breakdown takes place in the work process that now follows.
2.
Afterwards the finished mixture is poured into the hopper of the integrated mixing and spray unit and mixed with the mixing rod before it is applied.
3.
The POWER-COLLOID high-pressure spray technology is prepared for special requirements in that all parts that come into contact with the slurry are made of stainless steel.

ColloiX is used for the blocking of substrates, for sealing the surface ColloiX+ is used.

Process

The POWER-COLLOID slurry (= watery, semi liquid cement mush) is made in the POWER-COLLOIDATOR.

Then the cement, the POWER COLLOID additive and liquefier are added to the levitated water. The actual colloidal breakdown takes place in the work process that now follows.
2.
Afterwards the finished mixture is poured into the hopper of the integrated mixing and spray unit. In the following low-pressure process, stage quarz sand or other additives are added and processed with the double mixing rod.
3.
The sprayed coating is applied directly from the hopper using the integrated low-pressure spray equipment, observing the thickness specified in the project

4.
Depending on the desired surface structure a grinding operation may follow.

Levitation breaks up the water’s molecular clusters.
This increases the surfaces area considerably and thereby its potential for adhesion to the cement and the POWER COLLOID additives.
This is what gives POWER COLLOID its outstanding properties.
Specific product and process features
- Substrate: levitated water, cement and POWER-COLLOID additive PCA (additive specific to some applications)
- On cement only the highest quality of 52.5 cement may be processed (grey or white)
- The basic materials are mixed in the POWER-COLLOID colloidator
- The semi-liquid POWER-COLLOID slurry can be quickly and easily processed with the special spraying machine
- Depending on the ambient temperature, the mixture prepared is ready to process within about 30 minutes
- A wide range of colours is available based on iron oxide pigments and can be mixed with POWER-COLLOID
